How about just spending some time to track down the *actual* issue and then doing something? It shouldn't be too hard to figure out where the scopeid is lost between nss-myhostname and ping6 on Debian? It's usually a good idea to first understand the whole issue and then fixing it at the right place before prematurely applying knowingly incorrect patches that just tape over things? > I fail to see the advantage of having libnss-myhostname, which is > intended to make sure it is possible to look up the local host name > and always get a working IP address, return an IPv6 address that can't > be used to ping, connect or pass on.
