Package: ruby1.8
Version: 1.8.7.358-7
Severity: important

As demonstrated in Vim's last build on armel[0], ruby1.8's Provides:
ruby is interfering with the selection of the ruby package from
src:ruby-defaults:

…
ruby: already installed (~*=PROVIDED=*=)
ruby-dev: missing
…
Checking correctness of dependencies...
…
Package versions: … ruby-dev_1:1.9.3 ruby1.8_1.8.7.358-7
ruby1.9.1-dev_1.9.3.194-8.1+b1 …

Since the ruby package is supposed to select the default ruby
interpreter, ruby1.8 shouldn't also be providing the ruby name. The
ruby-interpreter name is sufficient for packages that require an
interpreter but don't care which one.
