Indeed, your log confirms that. Can you try to install libfprint 0.5.0-4 from Debian snapshots [0] ? [0] http://snapshot.debian.org/package/libfprint/1%3A0.5.0-4/ I have backported an upstream patch [1] to the -5 revision, which might conflict with your device, so confirming that it works with libfprint 0.5.0-4 would confirm that this patch is at fault.
