tag 708387 +patch thank you Fedora seem to actually have fixed the issue in 1.8.12-6. The .src.rpm found at <http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/ipmitool/1.8.12/6.fc18/src/ipmitool-1.8.12-6.fc18.src.rpm> contains the attached patch.
