I think this would be useful feature too, though I definitely vote for the more general form (selection based on site or line in sources.list).
I think, though I'm not positive, that the authentication scheme has caused some automatic operations to fail because some repositories I used aren't using it. I'd rather not have to turn it off entirely. Perhaps the verification could follow a scheme like that in the preferences file for determining the desired version of a file. By this I mean authentication options could use the same framework (and maybe the same syntax) developed there for specifying options based on general characteristics of packages and the sources of the packages. On the other hand, maybe you want to leave the annoyance so those of us using other repositories will bug the maintainers to start using the authentication system :) -- Ross Boylan wk: (415) 514-8146 185 Berry St #5700 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Dept of Epidemiology and Biostatistics fax: (415) 514-8150 University of California, San Francisco San Francisco, CA 94107-1739 hm: (415) 550-1062 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
