Setting Font or Note Color or Font either in Properties of a note or in Preferencies of the Sticky notes applet (for all notes) has no effect at all.
The colors and font size remain the ones from the system theme (even if it is not ticked). A few years ago I could change the Note Color, as I remember. The default Width and Height setup and most Behavior setup work fine. I observed this on two Debian boxes, and find this similar Ubuntu report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-applets/+bug/884724 I do not now whether this is an upstream bug. I have only Debianish systems.
