Package: laptop-mode-tools Version: 1.63-2 I noticed today that my console bell wasn't working, despite the volume being set appropriately. Having seen this issue before, I quickly found that /sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters/power_save was being set to "2" instead of "0" whenever I unplugged the AC. (On my laptop, powersave mode causes the console bell and headphone/mic input events to fail, and has since at least Linux 2.6.32.3)
Further investigation turned up laptop-mode-tools as the culprit, despite that I've had CONTROL_INTEL_HDA_POWER=0 in /etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/intel-hda-powersave.conf for over three years now. Removing /etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/intel-hda-powersave.conf.dpkg-dist made it start working correctly again. Comparing /usr/sbin/laptop_mode from 1.61-2 and 1.63-2, I see it now reads all files where before it only read *.conf, explaining the regression. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
