Sorry for my poor English but your guess is right. I don't want my system to freeze. >> -- debconf information excluded > > Could you provide the output of: debconf-show xawtv? Okay, here it is. xawtv/freqtab: xawtv/channel-scan: false xawtv/tvnorm: xawtv/makedev: true xawtv/build-config: false I did it as a normal user so I saw an error message: debconf: DbDriver "passwords" warning: could not open /var/cache/debconf/passwords.dat: Permission denied If you need I'll do it as a super user. Please tell me so. > Also, what kind of v4l2 input are you using? Could you provide the output of: > lspci and lsusb? You can skip the scantv by reconfiguring xawtv and > setting xawtv/build-config: false. A bit more precisely, when I did run xawtv, it opens a window with black screen and so I right clicked on the window to quit. Then I selected "Quit" but suddenly I saw console screen full of characters (seems messages from kernel). Then I could't do anything than pressing power button. If you need any other information please let me know. Thanks for your maintenance.
