Package: libmysql-ruby1.8 Version: 2.4.5-6.1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks unrelated software
The upgrade to libmysqlclient14 means that when you use apache2 with mod-php4 and the php mysql lib (which still uses libmysqlclient12) that everything starts segfaulting as apache2 tries to load two versions of libmysqlclient, one for libmysql-ruby (when using mod-ruby and a script which uses mysql) and one for php. I've downgraded libmysql-ruby1.8 for now. At least, the package should have a warning for apache2 users who also do mysql things with php. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.8 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages libmysql-ruby1.8 depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libmysqlclient12 4.0.24-10sarge1 mysql database client library ii libruby1.8 1.8.2-9 Libraries necessary to run Ruby 1. libmysql-ruby1.8 recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
