Now, they are two separate peripherals.

On all of the ARM device ttyS1 is the PIC. ttyS0 is either the serial
console or the LCD. On systems which have an it is selectable (via a
jumper, connected to a GPIO) whether ttyS0 is the serial console or the
LCD. On devices without an LCD it is just always the serial console.

My ARM devices don't have ttyS3 or 4. They are probably spare on x86
because PC platforms often have four serial devices.
