Thank you for this bug report. I confirm the problem for linux-3.9.13.
I am trying a build a hardened kernel with no loadable module and all static modules to avoid the risk of rootkits. As described here: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=105080 As shown recently, this is highly important to be able to quickly compile static kernels in Debian. Kind regards, Kellogs
