Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation?
Install using Debian DVD with Gnome. I have a notebook with wired and wireless
network adapters.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I burned the driver on a CD which did not help
I installed the missing wireless driver after installation which worked well
but I considered unnecessary.
* What was the outcome of this action?
the missing package was firmware-iwlwifi which I installed with apt-get into
the ready system.
The installer however told me it was missing iwlwifi-6000g2a-6.ucode which
confused me.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected the installer to use the working wired connection to download the
missing piece and not only accept USB and floppy media.
The installer should probably try to setup every network adapter automatically
as much as possible and then use it for others which are still missing driver
software after the first phase or so.
