Might be convenient? At first glance, that is a good idea. However, since in the next version we will have the ability to enable shared memory and debug logging at runtime, this is not necessary. Also, bug #653327 makes it much more complicated than just shipping another .desktop file, because to circumvent it, we would need to ship a shell script and have a manpage for it, etc.
