It is correct that the standard universe is not enabled and it is not easy
to change that.
There are plans to make that possible eventually, but it won't come any
time soon. The
reason is that a wrapper for Debian's libc has to be handcrafted for the
standard universe
to work.

I agree that adding this information to the README is useful. What about
adding.

"At this point Condor's standard universe is not supported by this package.
However,
 checkpoint/migration of vanilla Condor jobs is available via DMTCP
integration."

at the top of the existing section on snapshoting?
