OK. Back on Linux. Downgrading udev and libudev *only* fixes the boot problem. I had to force a conflict with consolekit but will salvage that later on.

# CONFIG_DEVTMPFS is not set

Will set it and try again. I now have :

CONFIG_DEVTMPFS=y
CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT=y
