Hello again, Thanks for the effort, appreciate it!
I have now pretty much exhausted my options by playing with Avahi's settings (and CUPSens, for all I know). For example, I set browse-domain=domain.local in Avahi's config and got at least my Ubuntu test client to go along with that. Not Macs, of course, they aren't quite as forgiving. My options reduce to: 1. Make a clone of every CUPS 1.5 machine and keep it running alongside the updated machines for as long as the domain->nodomain transition lasts; or 2. Write a small script that takes every "nodomain" record and creates a replica with only the 'Service Name' field changed to the old form. #2 seems promising and something I'd look forward to do (wield that old 800 pound chainsaw again). I will call the project 'Avahi Aliases' -- it will be an instant classic. :) Input/concerns welcome (for example, I have as yet no idea on how to get/inject Bonjour packets out of/into Avahi)! -Hagen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
