Hello again, That's me back-tracking. Otmar was absolutely right: The load excursions started again (after three months, quite suddenly); reliably, usually at least twice a day with a production print server on Debian Wheezy. Again, Till Kamppeter's patch referenced earlier fixed it (as it did for Otmar).
I have *no* idea what causes this. Other print servers -- configured in precisely the same way, seeing about the same usage -- are fine. Please consider the patch for adoption.
