hello, I agree that when the user interrupts the backup with ctrl-c, obnam should terminate "cleanly"; I mean, without leaving locks.
However, checkpointing takes a lot of time on slow systems and/or with low network bandwidth (several minutes). I would prefer just interrupting the backup and removing locks before leaving.
