Source: nvidia-kernel-common
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

As reported in #684774, there is an issue with the blacklisting of nouveau
driver in the nvidia-kernel-common.conf file.

I just upgraded today from wheezy to jessie today and my display was left in
pretty bad state after reboot. Probably a fallback on VESA driver. The issue
was not so easy to identify because the Xorg log doesn't show that nouveau
driver loading failed. Only symptom was a "KMS not enabled".

After some googling, I found #684774 and I've purged nvidia-kernel-common to
remove nvidia-kernel-common.conf. Xorg with nouveau is working well again.

Is there a way to make this purge action automatic so that other people don't
run into the same issue ?

best,
Pierre
