Source: nvidia-kernel-common Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
As reported in #684774, there is an issue with the blacklisting of nouveau driver in the nvidia-kernel-common.conf file. I just upgraded today from wheezy to jessie today and my display was left in pretty bad state after reboot. Probably a fallback on VESA driver. The issue was not so easy to identify because the Xorg log doesn't show that nouveau driver loading failed. Only symptom was a "KMS not enabled". After some googling, I found #684774 and I've purged nvidia-kernel-common to remove nvidia-kernel-common.conf. Xorg with nouveau is working well again. Is there a way to make this purge action automatic so that other people don't run into the same issue ? best, Pierre -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.10-2-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.utf8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
