Package: denyhosts Version: 2.6-10 Severity: normal Hi,
I installed denyhosts and then later removed it (not purged). I then got this e-mail from cron: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate: start-stop-daemon: unable to start /usr/share/denyhosts/denyhosts_ctl.py (No such file or directory) invoke-rc.d: initscript denyhosts, action "restart" failed. error: error running non-shared postrotate script for /var/log/denyhosts of '/var/log/denyhosts ' run-parts: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate exited with return code 1 The problem seems to be /etc/init.d/denyhosts: it doesn't check if denyhosts has been removed before trying to start it. (It does check if $DAEMON is executable, but $DAEMON is set to /usr/bin/python). -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages denyhosts depends on: ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian8+deb7u1 ii python 2.7.3-4 denyhosts recommends no packages. denyhosts suggests no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
