Package: imagemagick Version: 8:6.7.7.10-5 Severity: normal I tried to capture an image using my usual $ import myfile.jpg selecting a rectangle with mouse in the usual way.
The captured image was only the right side of the selected area. Repeated attempts captured varying sub rectangles, typically with a file size of 28K or 31K. Eventually I tried with $ import -limit Memory 1GB myfile.jpg and this time the whole selected area was captured. The size of the resulting file was 62K (62764 bytes). It was almost as if there was some small default undocumented value for -limit? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.10-2-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages imagemagick depends on: ii hicolor-icon-theme 0.12-1 ii libbz2-1.0 1.0.6-5 ii libc6 2.17-92 ii libfontconfig1 2.10.2-2 ii libfreetype6 2.4.9-1.1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.36.4-1 ii libgomp1 4.8.1-2 ii libice6 2:1.0.8-2 ii libjpeg8 8d-1 ii liblcms2-2 2.2+git20110628-2.2 ii liblqr-1-0 0.4.1-2 ii libltdl7 2.4.2-1.3 ii liblzma5 5.1.1alpha+20120614-2 ii libmagickcore5 8:6.7.7.10-5 ii libmagickwand5 8:6.7.7.10-5 ii libsm6 2:1.2.1-2 ii libtiff4 3.9.7-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.1-1 ii libxext6 2:1.3.2-1 ii libxt6 1:1.1.4-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-1 Versions of packages imagemagick recommends: ii ghostscript 9.05~dfsg-8 ii libmagickcore5-extra 8:6.7.7.10-5 ii netpbm 2:10.0-15+b1 ii ufraw-batch 0.19.2-1 Versions of packages imagemagick suggests: pn autotrace <none> ii cups-bsd [lpr] 1.6.3-1 pn curl <none> pn enscript <none> pn ffmpeg <none> ii gimp 2.8.6-1 ii gnuplot 4.6.3-2 pn grads <none> ii groff-base 1.22.2-3 pn hp2xx <none> pn html2ps <none> ii imagemagick-doc 8:6.7.7.10-5 ii libwmf-bin 0.2.8.4-10.3 ii mplayer2 [mplayer] 2.0-554-gf63dbad-1+b1 pn povray <none> pn radiance <none> ii sane-utils 1.0.22-7.4 ii texlive-binaries [texlive-base-bin] 2012.20120628-4 ii transfig 1:3.2.5.d-3 ii xdg-utils 1.1.0~rc1+git20111210-7 -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
