I see that you don't have gnome-keyring installed which provides the
org.freedesktop.secrets service to store the passwords.
The network connection you created, is it a user connection or system
connection (would be great if you can attach the connection from
/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/)?
If it's a user connection, it expects that it can store the secrets in
the user session.

I assume, nm-applet expects this D-Bus service and doesn't properly deal
with the fact when it's not there.

At a first glance, it looks like a duplicate of #721822.
Would be great if you can send me a backtrace of the crash.
