Thats why I asked it this sparsely documented and not enabled by default
piece of software warrants the hard inclusion of a lot of dependencies.

Neither mon, osd nor mds should run on the same system I would assume,
at least in large installations.  So my question is just _why_ mds needs
this extra package, while mon/osd can live in the same.
