Package: cdbs Version: 0.4.122 Severity: wishlist currently DEB_AUTO_UPDATE_AUTOMAKE (and friends) take a fixed VERSION number, which makes cdbs create a build-dependency on "automake-VERSION".
currently older versions of automake (up to 1.11) are scheduled for removal [1], while newer versions (like automake-1.14) are not in wheezy, making backporting of packages needlessly complicated. i would suggest to allow ranges of the versions (e.g. DEB_AUTO_UPDATE_AUTOMAKE_MINVERSION and ..._MAXVERSION), that would create a versioned build-dependency on 'automaken', and call `automake` (rather than the versioned name) during the build-process. this also applies to the other AUTO-foo. fgamsdr IOhannes [1] https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2013/05/msg01459.html -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.10-3-686-pae (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_AT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash cdbs depends on no packages.
