So wait, how *do* you manage patches with dgit?

Normally, with a git-managed debian package, I either explicitely put
patches in debian/patches or throw a 'single-debian-patch' in
debian/source/options as explained here:

This doesn't work when I try dgit push however:

What's the favored debian/source/format?
