Reopening bug (please don't forget to cc: 726...@bugs.debian.org when
replying, otherwise it'll just end up in my private inbox, not the
Debian bug tracker).

Both conky-std and conky-all are configured to have support for ALSA
mixer (refer to build logs for src:conky [1] and src:conky-all [2]):

[...]
  config-output: yes
  Imlib2: yes
  ALSA mixer: yes
  apcupsd: yes
  I/O stats: yes
[...]

And -lasound is passed to the linker later on during the build, as
well. So theoretically, both conky-std and conky-all should have ALSA
support.

I've never used the "mixer" variable in my own conkyrc before, so I
don't know whether this is supposed to be working, or was actually
broken all along, but I can confirm that it also just displays "0" for
me. If you have some time to experiment, could you perhaps try some
older conky packages from snapshot.debian.org [3][4] and see if it
ever worked before?

Regards,
Vincent
