Package: procps
Version: 1:3.2.1-2
Severity: normal

hi,

here's what happens, and what I had to do to catch the errro msg:

~# slabtop -o 2>&1|less
unrecognizable data in your slabinfo version 1.1
^MFound an error in cache name at line dm io 0 0 36
 0 0 1 : 0 0 0 0 0

^Merror reading slabinfo!
ESC(BESC)0ESC7ESC[?47hESC[1;24rESC[m^OESC[4lESC[24;1HESC[2JESC[?47lESC8^MESC>

now, don't know wether the slabinfo here is really broken:

~# cat /proc/slabinfo
slabinfo - version: 1.1 (statistics)
kmem_cache 65 87 132 3 3 1 : 65 65 3

0 0
...

but I guess slabtop hiccups on the unexpected space in 'dm io' (dm-mod.o,
devicemapper) - I'm running 2.4.26.
But that may be another story, the problem is that slabtop clears the screen
on exit, clearing also the error msg it's just printed.
Perhaps the fix is a trivial exchange, first clear the screen, then print
the error?...

thanks
