Reading this response, some other remarks in the BTS and some private communication leads me to believe that currently there are no Debian Developers or Debian Maintainers actively enough involved to properly take care of gridengine. Wouldn't it make more sense to remove gridengine from Debian (for now)? Dave can then provide his packaging from his site and not be "troubled" by the old packaging. Apparently only Dave knows enough of the internals of gridengine to support it. Obviously a sponsor needs to know enough of it too, to be able to properly judge Dave's work (from the Debian perspective). Dave this is not meant as an offense at all, it is a mere observation. Of course you have to earn trust, but if nobody is able to judge, you are not getting it either. Paul
