Package: udev Version: 0.072-2 Followup-For: Bug #337881 I'm seeing the same thing. start-stop-daemon doesn't work & the dpkg preinst fails. After killing udevd by hand and issuing a dpkg --pending --configure start-stop-daemon can stop udevd with no problems!
