Hi, in LTSP (http://packages.debian.org/ltsp) we are using openssh-server for authenticating thin/fat clients against the LTSP server. Some installations, e.g. schools, have autologin enabled, so it's quite possible that a whole classroom boots up or reboots and ends up logging in at exactly the same time. The number of clients varies, but with 500+ school installations here in Greece and with 10 to 20 clients in each classroom, we had bug reports that ssh logins failed for a few users, and they succeeded on the second login attempt.

By changing MaxStartups to 20:30:60 to all those schools, there were no more bug reports about it for 2+ years now.

Would you please consider applying this change in the debian packaging of openssh-server?

Thanks,
Alkis Georgopoulos
