I agree this is odd, as the package does depend on "libldap2 (>=
2.1.17-1)" I'm not sure how you could install evolution-exchange without
it.

Can you please use report-bug? This might help debug this problem
better.

Other information that would be nice is what version you are running
etch? sid?
