Package: gfortran-4.7 Version: 4.7.2-5 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Occasionally we need to compile some fortran programs using the -static option to gfortran-4.7 so that we can use the resulting executable on a linux webserver that is out of our control. Running the following command... gfortran -static filename.f -o output does not include libquadmath.so.0 into the output executable so it will not work on the webserver. For info, doing the same under Debian Squeeze works perfectly. Many thanks Paul. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.10.6-pk002-smp-wheezy-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_GB.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gfortran-4.7 depends on: ii gcc-4.7 4.7.2-5 ii gcc-4.7-base 4.7.2-5 ii libc6 2.13-38 ii libc6-dev 2.13-38 ii libgfortran3 4.7.2-5 ii libgmp10 2:5.0.5+dfsg-2 ii libmpc2 0.9-4 ii libmpfr4 3.1.0-5 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.7.dfsg-13 gfortran-4.7 recommends no packages.
