The python-soappy module might be a blocker here. It looks like it's been dead
upstream
for years, so an upstream port to python 3 is unlikely. There are plenty of
other SOAP
libraries for Python, but none of the ones listed on the Python wiki have been
ported to
python3 [1].

There is a fork of suds (that was not renamed) that says it supports Python3.
Perhaps this
should replace our existing python-suds since the original upstream is dead.

Since these libraries are usually pretty complex, adding on a RESTful API to
the Debian
BTS might be easier. Porting a SOAP library would be more beneficial to entire
python
community though.

I did also notice that there does not appear to be a wsdl for the Debian BTS
SOAP. That
could make porting python-debianbts to suds painful.

Jordan Metzmeier
