Hi folks, I stumbled over this problem too, when updating to MySQL 4.1 (4.1.14-6), but actually got another behavior:
After upgrade to MySQL 4.1 all sub trees and links were gone. Only the top-nodes were still visible. Trying to add new links was denied with an "Invalid node id". The posted patch fixed this (almost). Now I can see all sub trees and links again, but the top-nodes have no text label anymore :-/ Could somebody please fix this or try a new upstream version.
