Package: ocsinventory-agent Version: 2:2.0.5-1 Severity: normal It seems that if raw EDID info from whatever monitor is connected to the system on which the OCSI Agent is running contains a double-quote character, the agent is unable to successfully communicate with the server.
The cause is the inadequate escaping of the raw EDID when trying to pipe it to uuencode in /usr/share/perl5/Ocsinventory/Agent/Backend/OS/Generic/Screen.pm This results in incorrect output from the uuencode command, hence invalid XML being submitted to the server, and failure of the agent submission. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.3 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'oldstable-updates'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_NZ.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_NZ.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages ocsinventory-agent depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.49 ii libnet-ip-perl 1.25-3 ii libnet-ssleay-perl 1.48-1+b1 ii libproc-daemon-perl 0.14-1 ii libwww-perl 6.04-1 ii libxml-simple-perl 2.20-1 ii perl [libcompress-zlib-perl] 5.14.2-21+deb7u1 ii po-debconf 1.0.16+nmu2 ii ucf 3.0025+nmu3 Versions of packages ocsinventory-agent recommends: ii dmidecode 2.11-9 ii hdparm 9.39-1+b1 ii pciutils 1:3.1.9-6 Versions of packages ocsinventory-agent suggests: ii nmap 6.00-0.3+deb7u1 ii read-edid 2.0.0-3.1 pn smartmontools <none> -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
