The executables under /usr/lib/llvm-3.2/bin are not executable on a hurd-i386 system. All files in that directory are 644 instead of 755. The result of this is $ llvm-config -bash: /usr/bin/llvm-config: Permission denied Discovered when attempting to build src:octave on hurd-i386, which build-depends on llvm-dev.
