If a lot of distributions default to adding the quiet kernel boot parameter then maybe, but I don't know if that is the case, and systemd does not do quiet on success without it, which argues that it may not be the intended upstream default behavior. Which in turn may be why systemd has not put much effort into handling debuggability in that configuration. -- see shy jo
