That should explain that the symbol was available at compile time, but
not at runtime. And the comment in the fedora patch clarifies that this
is no longer needed. (I didn't want to throw out code without a good
reason.)

Thanks for digging into these. I'll include rev 1.2 in the next upload.

Right now alioth.d.o seems to have some issues and the vcs are offline.
