Package: ntp Version: 1:4.2.6.p5+dfsg-2 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
When printing names/addresses of remote hosts, ntpq peers truncates them to 15 characters. This is enough for any IPv4 address, but is often not enough for a DNS name or an IPv6 address. It would be useful to have an option for wider output, allowing all (or at least more) of the string to be seen. Or maybe the command could even automatically adjust its output to the terminal's width. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (50, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages ntp depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu3 ii dpkg 1.16.10 ii libc6 2.13-38 ii libcap2 1:2.22-1.2 ii libedit2 2.11-20080614-5 ii libopts25 1:5.12-0.1 ii libssl1.0.0 1.0.1e-2 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian8 ii netbase 5.0 Versions of packages ntp recommends: ii perl 5.14.2-20 Versions of packages ntp suggests: ii ntp-doc 1:4.2.6.p5+dfsg-2 -- Configuration Files: -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
