Thanks for your reply, Daniel. So from what I understand, the patch is incomplete and not really sufficient to enable bootstrapping. Is that correct? If so, I'd like to keep this bug open until jessie is released and we merge a complete patch then. Or is there any benefit in merging an incomplete patch which simply contains the debian/rules bits?
