Package: rsync Version: 3.1.0-2 Severity: normal Tags: patch https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7249#c5
That patch uses the kernel's O_NOATIME feature that has been part of debian since ancient times now. Has none of the drawbacks of the horrible kludges proposed in the past, such as those documented #244168. As an added bonus, decade old bugs such as #244168 can be closed! -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.4 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable'), (5, 'testing'), (2, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.11-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages rsync depends on: ii base-files 7.1wheezy4 ii libacl1 2.2.52-1 ii libc6 2.17-93 ii libpopt0 1.16-7 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian8+deb7u1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-1 rsync recommends no packages.
