I just did, same behavior. The screens lights up but nothing is displayed on it. In the meantime, I added "nomodeset" to the kernel command-line. Then I see the kernel/init messages, but then the screen blanks when Xorg launches. That time, switching back to vc1 and Xorg brings the gdm dialog visible. As a side note, the Grub2 screen does not fit my screen size, I can't see the bottom of the Grub invite. -- Cyprien/Fulax
