checkbox-ng and its checkbox-cli tool is a test runner... without any tests.
To actually avoid this crash you should install a test provider package.
The only one available in Debian so far is plainbox-provider-checkbox.
I didn't put it as a recommended package because it has some desktop
dependencies like gstreamer.
And checkbox-cli was originally written to run on systems without X.
We're working on a server oriented package that will be a true
dependency for checkbox-ng and will of course avoid the crash.
