That seems reasonable. Upstream has a broken policy in my opinion, and providing a backport seems more sensible than putting in engineering effort towards cross-version compatibility that upstream should have already exerted themselves. -- Love is a snowmobile racing across the tundra and then suddenly it flips over, pinning you underneath.
