Installation fails with "Starting Avahi mDNS/DNS-SD Daemon: avahi-daemon failed!" because trying to restart something that is not already running and considering it a failure that it cannot be stopped first (hint: invoke-rc.d, not directly running the script as /etc/init.d/foobar restart; see sysklogd for a good example). Rebooting or manually restarting the daemon doesn't fix it. 2. The postinst script doesn't update-rc.d which means that the daemon is not started at any bootup stage. The end result is that Rhythmbox flatly refuses to work, because it cannot find a working Avahi! Please fix ASAP.
