The /etc/logrotate.d/asunder file contains this: invoke-rc.d rsyslog rotate > /dev/null What was the intention here? The asunder package should not be asking rsyslog to rotate. I am not deeply familiar with asunder but does it have its own log files at all? I don't see any. I don't think asunder needs a logrotate file at all. I think the addition of that file was a simple packaging mistake. The previous version of the package did not have a logrotate file. For others hitting this annoyance removing the file seems like the best workaround for it. rm -f /etc/logrotate.d/asunder Bob
