The version of python-typogrify currently packaged originates from https://github.com/hyde/typogrify Which currently states, "This fork is obsolete and will be deleted soon." The version that PyPi (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/typogrify) points to is developed at: https://github.com/mintchaos/typogrify and has much more recent releases. It would be great to get the newer version into Debian. I'd be happy to help if need.
