I don't see any downside to that.  -I and -L only affect the compiler, not
anything about the compiled binaries, and it also means that builds will
then be reliable regardless of which *-dev package is installed if the
proper *-multidev package is expressed in the dependency and the proper
krb5-config script is used.

I also second the request for moving the krb5-config script to the
*-multidev package.  It's been very nice for Heimdal to do that, since it
means I can test builds against both MIT and Heimdal very easily on the
same system without switching packages around.  (Most things currently use
krb5-config since the *.pc files have only recently become usable.)
