Hi, I tried installing AOO and trying the extensions I cited with it (I solved somehow the problem I cited in my previous comment), and I found out that:
1) maybe the problem is not related to the SSH tunnel, but rather to the connection from outside the LAN, as opposed to inside it. In fact, I was able to connect directly and over SSH from inside the LAN, but I was not able to do the same, nor over SSH neither directly, when I tried connecting from outside my LAN. Of course I had port forwarding enabled, and the SSH connection/tunnel was working. 2) The extension for OpenOffice, both the one found at http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/mysql-connector-openofficeorg and the one at http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/node/5644 do not seem to solve the problem.
