Hi,

I would like to ask reopening this ticket, since I tried to install Debian Jessie (Netinst, amd64 iso image is just downloaded 1 hour ago) and after install it "dies" on the first boot. It says "Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)", then a stacktace comes.
Motherboard is a Supermicro X7SBE server board with Xeon 3110 CPU.
I have a 2 TB SATA disk with bios_grub, partition is aligned, root partitition is /dev/sda3. The UUID value is corrected in /etc/fstab and grub config, verified with "blkid" command.

I am able to boot the system only with Rescue disk.

Needless to say this is a critical issue for an OS if not booting, thus ticket short-cutting is not seems to be an option that happened with the previous issue reporter.

Could you please handle this situation with trhe severity it deserves and fix the issue in a professional way?

Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,

Szabolcs Hodosi
